“Corruption Probe” Commission Says “No”

The parliament commission to investigate Turkey’s Corruption Probe denied the trial of 4 former ministers in the Supreme State Council (Yüce Divan). 

The four former ministers Muammer Güler, Egemen Bağış, Zafer Çağlayan and Erdoğan Bayraktar from Justice and Development Party (AKP) will not stand trial at Supreme State Council. 

The parliament, on the other hand, will have a close ballot on the sending of the aforementioned former ministers to the Supreme State Council. 

The distribution of commission votes according to parties was as follows: Republican People’s Party (4 for trial), National Movement Party (1 for trial), Justice and Development Party (9 for dismissal). (EKN/BM)
