Four more people have been taken into custody in connection with the Ergenekon case. The third hearing of the trial will be held today.
In the Ergenekon investigation conducted by Prosecutor Zekeriye Öz, four people have been taken into custody: three former employees of the TV channel Kanaltürk in Istanbul and journalist Merdan Yanardağ in Ankara.
According to the ntevmsnbc.com, among those taken into custody, Anet Sahakyan and Fuat Garip were the assistants of Tuncay Özkan, founder of Kanaltürk, who was arrested in connection with the investigation a few weeks ago, and Şener Öztürk was his driver.
Merdan Yanardağ, taken into custody in an hotel in Ankara, used to make programs for Kanaltürk.
The 13th High Criminal Court of Istanbul, which is trying the Ergenekon case, is expected to reach a decision regarding whether or not the 2500- page long indictment will be read.
Expecting a big crowd, the court may not even allow the six news agencies that were allowed inside in the second hearing. In this case, the media will follow the hearing using the big screen that will be placed outside. (TK/TB)
