Students from Berlin and Istanbul at bianet

bianet was the starting point for students from Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul and from the Freie Universität Berlin in a series of visits to Turkish media institutions. As part of the Media and Culture Management project, they met BİA Project Advisor Nadire Mater.

Students from Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul and from the Freie Universität Berlin ('Free University of Berlin) visited bianet on Wednesday (27 April). The group of 18 students consulted Nadire Mater, Project Advisor of the Independent Communication Network (BİA), in the context of their joint program entitled "Media and Cultural Management". They shared their observations on the Turkish media in general and bianet in particular.

bianet was chosen as the first destination of a number of visits to Turkish media organs as emphasized by Prof. Klaus Siebenhaar from the Department of Culture and Media Management at the Freie Universität, and Assis. Prof. Burçe Çelik, Assistant Dean of the Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Communications. Siebenhaar and Çelik are the co-ordinators of the program.

The Media and Culture Management program is a mutual training program for both communication students and members of the media.

The nine students from Turkey and nine students from Germany will visit several other media institutions in Turkey throughout the coming two weeks to exchange views and share their observations. (HK/EÖ/VK)
