The exciting exhibition comprieses of photo journalist Ali Öz's selection out of  his work in the last 27 years. Oz's pictures convey impressive messages and feature special shape and light techniques. Journalist Yıldırım Türker wrote the comments on the exhibited photographs.

The pictures reflect moments of strife and combat situations from recent Turkish history in the aftermath of the 12 September 1980 military takeover. Öz captures scenes from the 'Saturday Mothers' vigils, of turbulent May Day events,  the war in southeast, students' actions, protests against killings of LGBT, protests by villagers from western Bergama distrcit against environmentally hazardous gold mining, as well as workers protests against economic the crisis, many of them also showing police violence.

Öz controversially named his photographs of countless actions, funerals and destructions "free" and depicts the daily life's politics.

The exhibited photographs appeal to be registered in the society's common memory. The pictures are like a documentary of society and its inherent social events.

The exhibition can be visited till 20 September. (DPK/BÇ/VK)
