AKP spokesperson questions opposition's willingness to respect election results

Justice and Development Party (AKP)'s spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements about the counting process in today's election.

"The voting started after all kinds of measures were taken. The voting was done securely with a participation rate that will be historical in the history of democracy. We thank all individuals of our nation for this. It is an honor for us that all people of our nation have gone to the ballot box starting early in the morning.

''We have shown the whole world how a democratic struggle is waged. The ballot box is your honor in politics. What everyone should do is to wait for the results. The counting is being carried out transparently. Whatever the election results are, we have the tradition to respect it.

"What is this fuss about in the CHP circles? Will you respect the results of the elections, whatever they are,'' Çelik comments on election counting process.

Earlier this evening, when the preliminary results came in, Republican People's Party (CHP)'s spokesperson Faik Öztrak criticized the state-run Anadolu Agency of showing deceiving results.
