According to the votes counted till 8.00 pm local time on Sunday evening (12 June), the day of the 2011 parliamentary elections in Turkey, the religious-conservative Justice and Development Party (AKP) holds the majority. As reported by ntvmsnbc.com, 68 percent of all ballot boxes have been counted so far. The turnout of voters amounts to 73.38 percent.
