Female Deputies Enter Parliament in Trousers

Independent Leyla Zana and HDK deputy Sebahat Tuncel attended yesterday’s parliamentary session in trousers after the passing of a bill allowing female deputies to wear trousers in the parliament. However, the bill has yet to be implemented fully. 

Zana and Tuncel marked the first female deputies to enter the parliament in trousers. 

The aforementioned bill revises the phrases “women dress in skirt-suit” to “women dress skirt or trouser suits”. (ÇT/BM)
