President of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) Recep Tayip Erdoğan said, “AKP has never been the center of acts against secularism and it will continue defending the fundamental qualities of the Republic.

“A serious obstacle is left behind”

President Erdoğan stated that a serious obstacle  before trust and stability was left behind; with this decision, they could now move forward.

According to him, with this decision, not only the AKP, but Turkey was saved from a very serious injustice, too.

Too much time and energy has been wasted since March 14

President Erdoğan emphasized that too much time and energy was wasted since March 14, that they now wanted to concentrate on future without getting hooked on the past. He also mentioned that their road was Atatürk’s (the founder of Turkish Republic) road, the way to serve people, the road to the full membership in the European Union, that they were not going to back up from this goal.

He also stated that their priority was social peace, they would try to embrace everyone as a whole against all kinds of discrimination and everything was for Turkey.

According to the decision of the Constitutional Court, the Justice and Development Party (AKP) was not closed, but its share of the Treasury Aid was cut by half as a warning. (NZ/TB)
