New images from the security cameras about the murder case of Hrant Dink have appeared. In one of the images, another person claimed to be with O.S. is seen. The security cameras belong to an ATM and a nearby business.

The next hearing of the Dink murder case is scheduled for July 7 at the 14th High Criminal Court of İstanbul, but there are still unanswered questions. Hrant Dink, the founder and the chief editor of Agos, an Armenian/Turkish weekly, was murdered on January 19, 2007.

He watches around carefully before the murder and then goes into the construction zone and disappears

According to NTV, the identity of the second person who is there at the time of the murder,   hanging around the murder scene for a long time, making a phone call and finally getting caught in the cameras on the escape route of O.S., is still not known. This second person waits in front of the Agos building for a long time and disappears in the construction site on the cross street after the murder.

The images from the period right before the murder of Hrant Dink come from the security records of the bank at the corner right across the Agos building. In these records, there is another person, whose identity has not been determined despite the efforts.

His back is turned against Agos and he is making a phone call

O.S. is at the ATM security camera with his white beret at 12.53.04. He is seen at the same place, walking up and down, at 12.58.00. The records show that Hrant Dink comes to the bank at 14.40.04 and goes out after picking up a ticket for the waiting line.

At 14.53.12, a person, whose back is turned against the Agos building and checking his back from time to time, appears in the camera. This person gets out of the camera temporarily, but then is seen again, walking backwards towards the spot where he was, to the front of the bank, and he makes a phone call right there.

At 14.53.12, Hrant Dink comes back to the bank for the second time. Once Hrant Dink is in the bank the person with the phone hangs up and gets out of the view of the camera.

Hrant Dink stays inside for five minutes. According to bank’s security camera, he leaves at 14.57.36 and at 14.57.44 all eyes turn towards the Agos building.

This time, the same person is in a camera of a business

O.S.’s escape on Şafak Street is caught by a camera of a business at 14.59.14. Right behind him, in the direction of O.S.’s escape, appear two people. One of these people is the person caught in the ATM camera previously, suspected to be a lookout. These two people look at O.S. and enter the construction site on the street after O.S. disappears.

Police talked to almost everyone who was at the scene at the time of the murder. The foreman of the construction site said that these two people did not work at the site. Although one and a half years have passed since the incident, the identities of these two people, suspected to be lookouts, have not been determined yet. (EÖ/EZÖ/TB)
