7 Media Staff Freed Pending Trial in KCK Case

An Istanbul court freed 7 media staff pending trial in the KCK media case where 46 media staff including journalists, editor-chiefs and newspaper owners from Turkey's pro-Kurdish media have been charged with becoming a member of KCK organization.

An Istanbul court freed 7 media staff pending trial in the KCK media case where 46 media staff including journalists, editor-chiefs and newspaper owners from Turkey's pro-Kurdish media have been charged with becoming a member of KCK organization.

The list of released media staff pending a trial included reporter İsmail Yıldız (Firat News Agency reporter), Pervin Yerlikaya (Dicle News Agency media accountant), Ziya Çiçekçi (editor-in-chief at Özgür Gündem), Çağdaş Kaplan (Dicle News Agency reporter), Ömer Çiftçi (Demokratik Modernite newspaper owner) and Saffet Orman (Demokratik Modernite staff).

The next trial session has been scheduled to April 22.

The court also issued travel restrictions (abroad) to 7 released media staff. (EKN/EA/BM)
