Complaint about OdaTV Prosecutor Kansız

Republican People's Party Deputy Oyan filed a complaint at the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors about Public Prosecutor Kansız who prepared the indictment of the Oda TV trial.

Oğuz Oyan, Izmir Deputy of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), filed a criminal complaint about Istanbul Public Prosecutor Cihan Kansız with the Supreme Board of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK). Prosecutor Kansız prepared the indictment of the Oda TV trial which also includes Oyan's name.

Oyan announced his taking legal steps at a press conference held together with CHP Konya Deputy Atilla Kart. He stated that speeches made in parliament and parliamentary questions were shown as "crimes" in the indictment. Moreover, two writings containing economic analysis that were published on Oda TV were included in the attachment of the case file, Oyan said.

The CHP politician announced that he filed a criminal complaint about Kansız with the HSYK on the grounds of violating the confidentiality of communications and private life, misconduct in office and the attempt to influence a fair trial.

Oyan pointed out that also CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was mentioned in the indictment. According to Oyan, Kılıçdaroğlu is going to file a criminal complaint in the coming days as well. (NV/VK)
