Turkeys school-teachers uniaon Egitim-Sen to launch nation-wide campaign petitioning for equal, free and quality education for all levels and sections of education. Engineers Chamber, TMMOB and largest union confedartion Turk-Is to support campaign.
Egitim-Sen chairman Alaaddin Dincer has said that according to the constitution and international conventions, education is a basic human right and that the state has a responsibility in delivering this.
Dincer explained they wanted all levels and sections of education to be equal, free and quality for everyone and that as part of campaign they launched under this appeal, the union would gather signatures for a petition between September 15-30 to the submitted to the presidency of the Parliament.
The union leader further said he had visited Mehmet Soganci, the executive board chairman of the the Union of Chambers of Turkish Architects and Engineers (TMMOB) and Salih Kilic, chairman of the Worker Unions Confederation of Turkey (Turk-Is) and that both had promised to support the campaign.
