Some people tried to burn down the building of the Peace and Democracy Party in Dikili in the province of Balıkesir. There was another attack ten days ago.
The district building of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) at Dikili in the province of İzmir was attacked. The attack came at the time when the lynch attempt against the Kurds in Altınova township of Balıkesir, a province in the Marmara Region of Turkey, was still in the agenda.
There was an attack on the BDP building ten days ago as well. The BDP building was set on fire by unknown people in the late hours of the evening. While the firemen were fighting the fire, the witnesses said they saw two people around the ages of 15 and 16 throwing flammable material into the building. There were no casualties in the fire.
The BDP, whose founders are of Kurdish ethnicity, was established right after the closure case of the Justice and Development Party (AKP). It was thought that the case against the AKP would speed up the case against the Democratic Society Party (DTP).
The BDP was established since the work towards a roof party that would include a number of socialist parties and the DTP under one greater party was taking too long and there was not much time left to the local elections. (EZÖ/EÜ/TB)
