Ministry of Justice decided not to permit the investigation of the prosecutors and judges of the Ergenekon case on the grounds that the evidence was not sufficient.
Ministry of Justice decided not to permit the investigation of the prosecutors of the Ergenekon case, Zekeriya Öz, Mehmet Ali Pekgüzel and the other prosecutors and judges. They were accused of misconduct in office by the Ergenekon suspects.
According to the explanation given by the ministry, there was no evidence showing that the prosecutors and judges abused their rights and powers.
The decision was reached by inspecting the file that included the complaints by Ergenekon suspects Muzaffer Tekin, Turgut Kazan and some others and the news that were used as criminal reports.
The complaint against the prosecutors was filed by Ergenekon suspects Muzaffer Tekin, Ergün Poyraz, Kemal Kerinçsiz, Doğu Perinçek and retired Colonel Erdal Sarızeybek with the Supreme Council of Judges and Prosecutors.
In the meantime, according to the CNN Türk, Ergenekon suspect Vedat Yenerer’s lawyer Vural Ergül announced that he filed a lawsuit against the Minister of Interior for ignoring the reports of crime regarding Ergenekon prosecutor Zekeriya Öz. (TK/EÜ/TB)
